| Article Excerpt: Outdoor furniture cushions used to have all the vibrancy of a concrete pool deck. That’s because few colors could stand up to several seasons in the sun without eventually looking tired and faded. But new chemically treated fabrics have vastly extended outdoor manufacturers’ color palettes. One new covering called Weatherwize, hit the market in January in more than 260 colors and patterns, some with names like “Honolulu” and “Glitz.” It’s guaranteed to keep its color for three years, but it retails at $25 to $45 a yard, more than twice as expensive as traditional fabrics. |
